Inside the Sapphire II

What's Inside?

Inside the Sapphire II

The Sapphire II case is held together by two screws and by four delicate plastic catches (red arrows point to the catches). It is not necessary to open the battery compartment or to remove the batteries. After removing the two screws, a thin screwdriver can be inserted in the top edge (left side in the photo) above each catch to gently pry the cover open.

A Closer Look

The back cover and the front panel remain attached together by a number of colored wires as seen in the photo. The main circuit board with the external power connector is firmly fastened to the front panel. The back cover holds the battery compartment, a small flat piezoelectric speaker, and the six pin serial port connector.
